N2 - Background: This retrospective study compares the limbal-based with the fornix-based trabeculectomy and limbal-based deep sclerectomy. Methods: The study population consisted of 51 eyes of 48 patients. 30 eyes were operated by limbal-based trabeculectomy, 12 eyes by fornix-based trabeculectomy and 9 eyes by limbal-based deep sclerectomy. All surgeries were done by Prof. Clemens and Prof. Tost. Results: The pressure regulation succeeded in 98% of the eyes without any antiglaucoma medications postoperative. Furthermore, 53,6% of the probed eyes didn´t need antiglaucoma medications after 8 till 13 months. In 98% of the eyes the conjunctival flap was described as functional. The limbal-based and fonix-based trabeculectomy tend to result in develope more rates of postoperative complications and revisions than the limbal-based deep sclerectomy. Conclusion: All three surgical techniques have proved to be successful procedures to control IOP and to develop a functional conjunctival flap.
