N2  - Trotz nachlassenden Interesses in der wissenschaftlichen Forschung erfreuen sich komplexe Problemlöseszenarien als sozial valider Ersatz für klassische Intelligenztests in der angewandten Eignungsdiagnostik ungebrochener Beliebtheit. Ziel der vorliegenden Arbeit ist die umfassende Validierung des für den Praxiseinsatz neu entwickelten komplexen Problemlöseszenarios AGRIMAN. In einem theoretischen Teil wird das Forschungsfeld und seine Geschichte am Beispiel des bekanntesten Problemlöseszenarios TAILORSHOP erläutert sowie auf den Zusammenhang von komplexer Problemlöseleistung mit Intelligenz, Wissen und beruflicher Leistung eingegangen. Im empirischen Teil wird die Entwicklung und Validierung von AGRIMAN beschrieben. N=185 Probanden aus drei Stichproben bearbeiteten im Rahmen von neun Assessment Centern das neu entwickelte Szenario. Die Ergebnisse bestätigen das Arbeitsmodell, dass Verarbeitungskapazität vermittelt über das erworbene systemspezifische Wissen die Problemlöseleistung beeinflusst. Außerdem ergaben sich mittelhohe Zusammenhänge zwischen Problemlöseleistung und über Assessment Center operationalisierter Berufsleistung.
N2  - Despite decreasing interest in the scientific community, complex problem solving scenarios are still highly valued in applied aptitude testing. Goal of this paper is to validate the newly developed complex problem solving scenario AGRIMAN. The history of this field of research is explained using the example of the most well-known complex problem solving scenario TAILORSHOP. Also, the correlation of complex problem solving ability with intelligence, knowledge and job performance is discussed. The empirical part of this paper describes the development and validation of AGRIMAN. N=185 participants of assessment centers, development centers and assessment center trainings were tested using the newly developed scenario. The results support the theoretical model of the paper. Intelligence determines the amount of knowledge gathered about the system, which then determines the complex problem solving performance. Furthermore, complex problem solving ability correlates with job performance, operationalized using the overall assessment center performance.
