N2  - Wachsende ökonomische Zwänge im Gesundheitswesen haben in den letzten Jahren auch vor den Krankenhäusern nicht halt gemacht. Unter der Zielsetzung, das Qualitätsmanagement auf dem Gebiet der Krankenhaushygiene und damit Einsparpotentiale aufzuzeigen, erfolgte die Analyse des Ist-Zustandes ausgewählter Hygienekosten am Beispiel des Universitätsklinikums Greifswald. Es konnten Einsparmöglichkeiten in den Bereichen Reinigung, Verbrauch von Antibiotika, Gebrauch von Einmalwindeln, Müllentsorgung - insbesondere C-Müll, Verwendung von Entsorgungsboxen, OP-Socken und Schutzmänteln aufgezeigt werden. Das mit Zahlen unterlegte Einsparpotential des Universitätsklinikums für 1025 Betten betrug etwa 380 TDM im Jahr 1996.
N2  - Increasing economic pressures on the German health system have impacted hospitals. The purpose of this study is to asses the current costs for hygiene at the University Hospital in Greifswald and to find potentials to cut costs through better quality management and provide better medical service as an ethical matter. It was possible to find ways to save costs by using less antibiotics and diapers, improving waste management especially chemical waste management, and using waste boxes and stockings and scrubs in the operating room. The final results of this study evaluates the potential savings for the University Hospital of Greifswald (which has 1025 beds) which amounts to approximately 380 000 German Marks based on the year 1996.
