  • This thesis with the evidence of the hormones leptin and resistin making use of immunohistochemical methods. We mainly focused on a positive reaction of leptin and resistin within the periepidiymal adipose tissue at the time of differentiation and morphological development of the epididymal epithelium. In addition we examed a simultainlous positive reaction of the leptin receptor (ob-r) in certain hypothalamical nuclei. Therefore we ran an immunohistochemical test of leptin, resistin, ob- r and insulin receptor in the epididymis, as well as in the hypothalamus, the pancreas and the lungs of male rats ages 35- 65 d. p. p. From the test followed a positive reaction of the hormones and receptors in all investigates tissues, except for resistin in the hypothalamical nuclei. Only minor differences were observed concerning the reaction´s intensity between the 35th and the 65th d. p. p. There was no climax in the hormone concentrations at the time of epididymal differentiation. Therefore we assume leptin and resistin to be part of the regulatory circle of male fertility and reproduction, however it isn´t of great importance.
