  • Summary Accordingly, the question of the present study was aimed to the metal-ceramic composite of four titanium-ceramic systems with those of conventional proven metal-ceramic systems (NE and high gold alloys), taking into account different surface conditioning using ISO-bending test according to DIN 9693 (1990) , compare to represent whether the shelf life should be evaluated after ceramic veneering just as surely as we know from the base metal and precious metal systems. It was created for this purpose molded test specimens with dimensions 0.4 x 5 x 30 mm made of pure titanium grade 1 (Dentaurum, Ispringen) according to the ISO flexural test and the veneering Vita (VITA, Bad Säckingen) Duceratin (Ducera , Rosbach) Tibond (Detrey, Dreieich) and Tyspar ceramic-titanium (Pentron Jeneric Germany, Kusterdingen) according to manufacturer\'s instructions blinded. When comparing systems, the alloys were Wiron 88, Wiron 99 (both BEGO, Bremen) and Degudent U (DeguDent, Hanau) with the venee ring Vita VMK 68, Vita Omega (both VITA, Bad Säckingen) are used. As surface conditionings per metal-ceramic system with 10 test specimens sandblasting came with 50 microns, 125 microns and 250 microns, only a flat ground surface with a 1200s metallography wet grinding wheel (NSS), one with with Rocatec (3M-ESPE, Seefeld) and a 250 microns and sandblasted with Silicoater MD (Heraeus-Kulzer, Haunau) prepared surface application. 1) investigated the titanium-ceramic systems, the test according to ISO 9693 have failed. The evaluation was performed using the SEM instead of a light microscope, the coverages increased significantly, but resulted only in combination Duceratin-titanium (MKK 2) to pass the test with more than 50% coverage in the middle third of samples. 2) The tested titanium-ceramic systems achieved significant in the light-microscopic evaluation is not the best coverages of conventional and metal-ceramic systems in NEM (MKK 5 - MKK 7) and EM-based (MKK 8 - MKK9). 3) The influence of conventional conditioning procedures (sandblasting) of the metal surface was at a light microscopic evaluation significantly to surface preparation with \"Silicoater MD\", \"Rocatec\" and \"1200 NSS\" on the ceramic coverage at the Titanverblendsystemen (MKK 1 to MKK 4) and the NEM- systems (MKK 5 - MKK 7). The evaluation was performed in the SEM was also in the combination Duceratin-titanium (MKK 2) a covering between 70 to 80% for \"Silicoater MD\" and \"Rocatec\" in the NEM systems (MKK 5 - MKK 7) bedeck -ecovery to be measured between about 90 to 100%. The EM systems (MKK 8 - MKK9) show a significantly lower coverage LiMi are unaffected in the SEM analysis, however. 4) inorganic tribochemically beam coating (Rocatec) and organic silicate conditioning (eg Silicoater MD worsen) the metal-ceramic composite, significantly, except for non-ferrous and precious metal alloys and are therefore to be rejected. 5) A sole light microscopic evaluation of the debonded surfaces does not provide reliable information about the real degree of coverage and the fracture characteristics. From LiMi evaluation of the coverage metric values without having to connect indirectly to the network, must be rejected from a scientific point of view. 6) The ISO-bending test was standardized by its execution but in terms of specimen preparation, but not all details of the test procedure in terms of pressure, velocity and impact bending of the elastic modulus. The metal-ceramic composite has been defined by the degree of coverage, so no conclusions on the bonding quality possible. A light-microscopic evaluation of the remaining ceramic cover yielded significantly lower values than the SEM analysis. In summary it can be concluded that the titanium-ceramic systems are not the primary bending test according to the old ISO standard, and thus at odds with other tests, eg Schwickerath-test from the current standard practice and daily stand. With less than 10% cover on the ceramic composite surfaces is a significant difference to the conventional non- ferrous and precious metal alloys.
